This four-week project in Chalfont St Peter transformed an outdated garden into a beautiful and practical outdoor space using premium natural materials throughout.

Following an initial consultation, the homeowners visited Mammoth Landscaping‘s showroom to explore the available materials and finalise their choices. They selected natural stone to create a timeless finish that would complement the traditional character of their home.

The finished project included sandstone patio installation, bespoke retaining walls with decorative knapped flint detailing, new garden steps and double slatted timber fencing, resulting in a cohesive landscape that is both functional and visually striking.

Steps & Patio Installation

The project began by removing the existing patio, steps and walling before carrying out all necessary excavation and structural groundworks.

To manage the changes in level throughout the garden, we constructed new brick retaining walls with decorative knapped flint detailing. These are not only a practical addition to the garden, but also add character to the space by complementing the property’s traditional style.

We also built a new set of garden steps, including a curved bullnosed feature step that creates a seamless transition between each level.

The patio installation was completed using Forest Glen Sandstone Riven paving, chosen by the homeowners for its natural texture, subtle colour variations, and timeless appearance that perfectly complements the property’s character.

Timber Fencing

To complete the transformation, we installed superior double slatted timber fencing along the rear boundary to provide privacy and create a smart, contemporary finish to the entire garden.
